The #16 Gathering Presser Foot has a slot on the foot that allows a flat piece of fabric to be automatically sewn onto the piece being gathered in one swift operation. If you are uncertain if your BERNINA requires the OLD STYLE FEET, examine one of your existing presser feet, the back top por­tion as viewed in the circle in the image to the right. NOTE -  BERNINA Old Style Feet have a rounded back, and will NOT have a cut-out on the back side.
